Agricultural Shows UK 2027: Dates, Venues and Which Ones Suit Your Business

Key Takeaways

  • The 2027 UK agricultural calendar starts indoors with LAMMA at the NEC (20–21 January) and Dairy-Tech at Stoneleigh Park (3 February), then moves to showgrounds and farms from June, including Cereals, the Royal Highland Show, Groundswell, the Great Yorkshire Show and the Royal Welsh Show.
  • Choose by who you need to meet. LAMMA, Cereals and Groundswell are aimed at farmers, contractors and advisers, while the county shows mix farmers with the public.
  • Farm incomes are up but confidence is not. Defra put total income from farming at Β£8.4 billion in 2025, up 21%, yet the NFU’s latest survey had short-term confidence at -33, so set a target for leads or orders before you pay for ground.
  • Outdoor showgrounds make weather the first design problem, so plan weighted bases, mesh graphics on exposed sites and heavy-duty outdoor fabrics, and ask for the pitch size before you order.
  • Book and order early. The Great Yorkshire Show opens 2027 trade applications in November 2026, and gazebos are quoted at ten to twelve business days rather than the usual five to seven.

Agricultural shows are not one kind of event. LAMMA fills NEC halls with machinery. Cereals and Groundswell are working-farm events with demonstrations in the field. The county shows turn a showground into a small town of trade stands where farmers, families and food producers walk the same lanes. Book the wrong one and you pay for ground, stock and staff in front of the wrong audience, or bring a stand to an open field that was never built for wind and rain.

This guide sets out the main UK agricultural shows for 2027 with dates, venues and audiences, then helps you choose between them and plan a stand that earns its cost. It is written for suppliers and marketing teams building a 2027 events budget. If you are only after a day out, the dates will help too.

What the farming market tells exhibitors in 2027

Farm incomes are up, but confidence is low

Defra’s latest statistics put total income from farming at Β£8.4 billion in 2025, up Β£1.4 billion or 21% on 2024, with agriculture’s gross value added at Β£15.9 billion, or 0.6% of UK GVA.

Confidence tells a different story. FarmingUK reported in February 2026 that the NFU’s latest survey had short-term confidence at -33 and mid-term confidence at -30, with 64% of farmers and growers saying profits are declining or that their business may not survive.

Machinery buyers are the most cautious

The NFU’s March 2025 survey found that machinery showed the sharpest fall in investment intentions, from -39 to -61 on a scale that runs from -100 to +100. That survey is more than a year old, so check the latest, but farmers still arrive at shows with a shortlist and hard questions about payback. A stand that answers them quickly will do better than one that only looks good.

Shows still draw large crowds

LAMMA reported more than 45,000 visitors and over 800 exhibitors at the NEC in January 2026, the highest attendance in its 44-year history. Farmers Guide reported over 210,000 visitors at the 2026 Royal Highland Show, and the Great Yorkshire Show’s organisers say a 2026 survey put its visitors at about 150,000. These are organiser and press figures, not audited counts.

That is one exhibitor’s view of one show, but it reflects why established brands keep an anchor show in the diary: the right one is where relationships are renewed and new accounts open.

Three key figures for UK agricultural exhibitors: Β£8.4 billion total income from farming in 2025, more than 45,000 visitors at LAMMA in January 2026 and over 210,000 visitors at the 2026 Royal Highland Show

The top UK agricultural shows for 2027

LAMMA: 20–21 January 2027, NEC Birmingham

Event: LAMMA 2027

Venue: NEC, Birmingham

Date: Wednesday 20 to Thursday 21 January 2027 (8.00am–6.00pm Wednesday, 8.00am–4.30pm Thursday)

Best for: Machinery, technology and input suppliers selling to farmers and contractors

LAMMA’s website describes a show for farmers, contractors and agricultural professionals, with 800+ brands listed for 2027, alongside CropTec and Low Carbon Agriculture. It is held in halls, so ask whether you can take shell scheme or space only. January also means artwork and delivery are planned over Christmas, so confirm dispatch dates with your supplier before the break.

Dairy-Tech: 3 February 2027, Stoneleigh Park

Event: Dairy-Tech 2027

Venue: Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

Date: Wednesday 3 February 2027

Best for: Suppliers to dairy farmers

Dairy-Tech’s own site lists a one-day event, and the RABDF events page says it runs every February at Stoneleigh Park. Neither gave visitor or exhibitor counts, so ask for audited figures. One day suits a compact stand that one person can set up quickly.

Cereals: 9–10 June 2027, Heath Farm, Lincolnshire

Event: Cereals 2027

Venue: Heath Farm, Leadenham, Lincolnshire

Date: Wednesday 9 to Thursday 10 June 2027 (8.00am–6.00pm both days)

Best for: Arable suppliers: crop inputs, machinery and advice

Cereals is a working-farm event for the arable sector. Farmers Guide reported that more than 25,000 farmers and over 650 exhibitors were expected in 2026, a pre-show expectation rather than a final count. Stands are on grass, so ask about pitch size, vehicle access and ground conditions.

South of England Show: 11–13 June 2027, Ardingly

Event: South of England Show

Venue: South of England Showground, Selsfield Road, Ardingly, West Sussex

Date: Friday 11 to Sunday 13 June 2027 (9.00am–6.30pm)

Best for: Farm, food and rural suppliers selling in the South East

The South of England Agricultural Society gives the dates, says 2027 information is still to come and publishes no visitor or stand numbers, so ask for the visitor profile. It starts the day after Cereals ends, so one team needs a second set of graphics to cover both.

Royal Highland Show: 17–20 June 2027, Edinburgh

Event: Royal Highland Show 2027

Venue: Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh

Date: Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 June 2027

Best for: Farm, food and rural suppliers selling to Scottish farmers and the public

The show’s own site refers to over 700 trade stands each year in a 2026 post, and Farmers Guide reported over 210,000 visitors in 2026. On those unaudited figures it is the largest event on this list. It overlaps with the Royal Three Counties Show, so decide which your buyers attend.

Royal Three Counties Show: 18–20 June 2027, Malvern

Event: Royal Three Counties Show 2027

Venue: Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire

Date: Friday 18 to Sunday 20 June 2027

Best for: Farm and rural suppliers in the West Midlands and Marches

The organiser’s page says the show draws around 90,000 visitors over three days, without giving a year. Trade stand applications run through its trade page, which showed 2026 applications open, so ask now for the 2027 timetable.

Groundswell: 23–24 June 2027, Lannock Farm

Event: Groundswell 2027

Venue: Lannock Farm, Hitchin Road, Weston, Hitchin, Hertfordshire

Date: Wednesday 23 to Thursday 24 June 2027 (07:00 to midnight both days)

Best for: Regenerative farming, soil and low-input suppliers

Groundswell is a regenerative agriculture festival with demonstrations, farm walks and talks, and its 2026 press release says it draws thousands of visitors and had almost 500 speakers. The audience cares about soil and low-input systems, so keep your stand practical and evidence-led rather than slick.

Royal Norfolk Show: 30 June–1 July 2027, Norwich

Event: Royal Norfolk Show 2027

Venue: Norfolk Showground, Dereham Road, Norwich

Date: Wednesday 30 June to Thursday 1 July 2027

Best for: Farm, food and rural suppliers in the East of England

The exhibitors page asks interested traders to complete an expression of interest form. It gives no visitor or stand numbers and still shows some 2026 information, so confirm the 2027 details. A two-day show leaves a short window to build, so choose a stand you can assemble in one go.

Great Yorkshire Show: 13–16 July 2027, Harrogate

Event: Great Yorkshire Show 2027

Venue: Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate

Date: Tuesday 13 to Friday 16 July 2027 (8am–6pm daily)

Best for: Livestock, machinery, food and rural suppliers in the North

The trade stands page says applications for 2027 open in November 2026 and that trade space for 2026 was fully booked. Its 2026 survey reported about 150,000 visitors, average spend of Β£157.70 per person after entry and food, and 89% shopping. The organiser also publishes a 2027 trade stand handbook with set-up times and rules.

Royal Welsh Show: 19–22 July 2027, Llanelwedd

Event: Royal Welsh Show 2027

Venue: Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells

Date: Monday 19 to Thursday 22 July 2027

Best for: Farm and food businesses selling in Wales

The Royal Welsh site points to a trade stand directory and an application page but gives no visitor or stand counts. If your customers are Welsh farmers and rural families it is the main date on the calendar, and it is worth asking whether bilingual graphics suit your audience.

Also worth knowing: Royal Lancashire Show, 25–27 June 2027

The Royal Lancashire Show is listed for Friday 25 to Sunday 27 June 2027 at Salesbury Hall, Ribchester, with gates open from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Its page gives no visitor or trade stand numbers. It opens the day after Groundswell ends, so one display needs a second set of graphics. Many other county shows run through the summer, and some had not published 2027 dates when we checked.

How to choose the right agricultural show

Start with who buys from you

List your last ten sales and note who bought: an arable farmer, a dairy farmer, a contractor, a farm shop owner or a family at a county show. Machinery and input suppliers usually belong at LAMMA and Cereals, regenerative suppliers at Groundswell, and rural and food brands at the county shows, where the public is in the mix.

Decide between an indoor hall and open ground

LAMMA is held in halls at the NEC, while Cereals, Groundswell and the county shows are on farms and showgrounds. Ask each organiser what is covered, whether power and water are available, and what the pitch size is. A stand that works in a hall can fail in a field.

Book early and mind the clashes

Several shows overlap or run back to back: the Royal Highland and Royal Three Counties Shows share a weekend, and Cereals ends the day before the South of England Show begins. Check dates against your staffing, and use our guide to what an exhibition stand costs in the UK to compare a large show with a smaller one. New to exhibiting? Our first-time exhibitor checklist and trade show marketing guide cover the groundwork.

What a farm-show stand needs to do

Plan for weather before you plan graphics

Outdoors, wind decides. A printed gazebo gives you cover and a large branded surface, and our guides to whether gazebos are waterproof and how to anchor a gazebo cover rain and wind. Use gazebo accessories to weight the frame, and set up in the most sheltered spot you are given.

Mesh is the safest graphic choice on an exposed site because wind passes through it instead of pushing on it like a sail. Roof panels, valances, half walls and full side walls can all carry print, and many customers brand only the roof and valance to keep costs down. Check the pitch size with the organiser, then use our gazebo size guide to pick a footprint that fits, or our gazebo versus marquee comparison if you are weighing a larger structure.

Make the stand visible across the showground

On a busy showground, your stand is seen from a distance before it is seen up close. Feather flags give you height and movement at the lane edge, and flag poles and bases fix them to the ground. A ground spike suits grass, while a cross base or water-fillable weight suits hard standing, so tell your supplier the surface when you order.

Give conversations somewhere to happen

Farm buyers talk standing up and ask about price, samples or a spec sheet. A printed counter gives you a working surface, and printed table covers dress a trestle quickly. Counter tops suit normal stand loads such as brochures, samples, a tablet and a card machine, but not heavy equipment. If you plan to demonstrate a product, read the organiser’s rules on demonstrations and anything hazardous first.

Hall stands at LAMMA and similar shows

If you take a shell scheme in a hall, shell scheme graphics let you dress the standard walls with your own artwork. If you take space only, exhibition displays by stand size help you match a display to your plot. Confirm the exact dimensions with the organiser first.

Preparing your display for a 2027 show

Canopy tents and gazebos are quoted at around ten to twelve business days rather than the standard five to seven, because they are a bigger build with a heavier frame and several printed panels. Standard displays typically take five to seven business days, counted from the next working day after you order and approve your proof. Your order confirmation shows the dispatch date, and if Backdropsource misses it, the order is upgraded to expedited shipping at its cost.

Couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm with a signature, and many showgrounds and farm venues will not have a staffed delivery point. Ship to your office or depot first and plan delivery for the week before the show. Our exhibition stand checklist covers packing and setup.

If you plan to use one display at several shows, tell your supplier every date when you order. With shows back to back in June, a second set of graphics is the safer option.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Choosing by crowd size alone. A large crowd is no use if few of the people buy what you supply.
  • Treating a county show like a trade show. The public is in the mix, so your stand must work for a quick look as well as a long conversation.
  • Ignoring the ground and the wind. Grass pitches and exposed sites need weighted frames, a sheltered position and mesh where it helps.
  • Ordering a gazebo late. At ten to twelve business days, an order placed a fortnight before a June show can run out of time.

Your pre-show checklist

  1. List your last ten sales and note the buyer type for each.
  2. Shortlist two or three shows and confirm 2027 dates and venues on the organiser’s page.
  3. Ask for audited visitor figures, the visitor profile and the trade stand handbook.
  4. Apply for space early; the Great Yorkshire Show opens applications in November 2026.
  5. Confirm the pitch size, ground type, and whether power is available.
  6. Choose a gazebo or hall display to match, and plan weights, mesh and flags for the weather.
  7. Request a free 2D mockup and approve the proof early.
  8. Tell your supplier the show dates and agree a dispatch date in writing.
  9. Plan delivery for the week before the show, to an address that can sign for it.

Talk to an expert before the 2027 season fills up

Pick the shows your buyers attend, plan the stand around the weather and the conversations you need, and give yourself time to approve artwork without rushing. If you want a second opinion on stand size, layout or artwork before you commit, book an expert consultation and tell us the show, the size of your pitch and the date your display needs to arrive. We can also show your artwork on the exact display size with a free 2D mockup. For any other question, contact our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are agricultural shows in the UK open to the public? +
It depends on the show. The big county shows, such as the Royal Highland Show and the Great Yorkshire Show, are public events: the Great Yorkshire’s 2026 survey said 89% of visitors included shopping. LAMMA describes its audience as farmers, contractors and agricultural professionals, and Cereals is aimed at the arable sector. Check each organiser’s visitor page for who can buy a ticket.
What is the biggest agricultural show in the UK? +
On reported visitor numbers, the Royal Highland Show is the largest on this list, with over 210,000 visitors in 2026 according to Farmers Guide. The Great Yorkshire Show reports about 150,000 and LAMMA more than 45,000. None of these figures is audited, and an indoor machinery show is not like for like with a county show, so a smaller show can still bring more relevant conversations.
Can I use a gazebo as a trade stand at a county show? +
Often yes, but the organiser sets the pitch size, the tent rules and any safety paperwork. Ask for the trade stand handbook before you order; the Great Yorkshire Show, for example, publishes one covering set-up times, rules and health and safety. Once you know the pitch size, choose a gazebo that fits it with room to weight the frame.
When should I apply for a trade stand? +
As early as the organiser allows. The Great Yorkshire Show says applications for 2027 open in November 2026 and that its 2026 trade space was fully booked. The Royal Norfolk Show asks for an expression of interest, and the Royal Three Counties Show takes applications through its trade page. Contact your shortlist this autumn and ask for their 2027 timetable.
Can I use the same display at more than one show? +
Yes, if the dates allow. Cereals ends on Thursday 10 June and the South of England Show opens on Friday 11 June, so back-to-back shows need a second set of graphics and a second team. A reusable frame lets you keep the structure and swap only the graphics, so tell your supplier every show date when you order.
